  It looks as if the "harmless warning" from fontconfig-2.17+ is actually
  causing some breakage, so let's just take the path of least resistance and
  revert the comment that introduced it. This might bring back a memory leak,
  but that was minor enough that it went unnoticed for years.
  Hopefully we'll see this addressed the right way eventually.
